Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign in with my Google account?
When you first open Beatitude, click the "Sign in with Google" button. A browser window will open where you can sign in to your Google account and grant permission. After authentication, you will be redirected back to the app. Beatitude uses OAuth 2.0—your Google password is never shared with or stored by the app.
Why are some tasks not appearing?
If tasks are missing, try the following:
- Make sure you are viewing the correct task list in the sidebar.
- Check if completed tasks are hidden—look for a filter option to show them.
- Pull down or click the refresh button to sync with Google Tasks.
- If tasks still don't appear, try signing out (Settings → Sign Out) and signing back in.
Tasks are not syncing. What should I do?
The app requires an internet connection to sync with Google Tasks. If syncing fails:
- Check your internet connection.
- Wait a moment and try again—Google's servers may be temporarily unavailable.
- Sign out and sign back in to refresh your authentication.
- Check Google Workspace Status for service outages.
How do I revoke Beatitude's access to my Google account?
You can remove the app's access at any time:
- Go to Google Account → Your connections to third-party apps & services
- Find "Beatitude" in the list
- Click on it and select "Delete all connections"
How do I delete all data stored by Beatitude?
To remove all locally stored data:
- Sign out: Open Settings in the app and click "Sign Out". This removes OAuth tokens from the macOS Keychain.
- Delete the cache folder: Open Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G, and go to
~/Library/Application Support/Tasks/. Delete this folder. - Uninstall: Move Beatitude.app from your Applications folder to Trash.
Note: This only removes data from your Mac. Your tasks remain stored in your Google account. To delete tasks from Google, use Google Tasks.
What macOS version is required?
Beatitude requires macOS 15.6 (Sequoia) or later.
Is my data secure?
Beatitude is designed with privacy in mind:
- All data processing happens locally on your Mac.
- The app communicates only with Google's servers—we do not operate any servers.
- OAuth tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption.
- The app does not include any analytics, crash reporting, or tracking.
